Hatha yoga is an ancient yoga style that transcends mere physical movement. The interconnection between body and mind lies at the heart of this approach.
"Ha" refers to the sun, and "Tha" to the moon. The sun symbolizes action and masculine energy (Yang), while the moon signifies introspection and feminine energy (Yin).
This form of yoga focuses on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual facets of our bodies. Hatha yoga classes are moderately intense and thus comprehensive compared to other styles such as power yoga, vinyasa yoga, and ashtanga yoga. The goal of Hatha Yoga is to attain balance by harmonizing effort (HA) and relaxation (THA). This objective is achieved by merging the body and mind, connecting with one's inner self to attain inner peace, and it also yields positive effects on organs and the nervous system.
